One thing we can always do more is pray, we all know this, but a lot of the time it's hard. It can be especially hard when we feel alone and as though we have no control over our life. These feelings seem to coincide with each other and this is when we may begin to blame God for our misfortunes in life. Why have your past relationships not worked? Why doesn't your crush give you the time of day? Why does God seem to be hiding the person you're meant to spend the rest of your life with?? It is so important to always be praying for your future spouse. By regularly praying for your future spouse you have already started to love and care for them, even without knowledge of who they are. Pray that they are continuing to find and strengthen their relationship with the Lord. Pray that they stay strong in their faith and that they are able turn down earthly temptations. Pray for any and everything you can think of. In times of heartbreak it is even more important to understand that God is on your side, He is not punishing you by way of a break up. And when relationships end, we should not become hateful for our ex partners, rather we should remain loving, as we were in the relationship. The best way to show this love is through prayer. If this is a person you truly loved and cared for then why wouldn't you want the best for their life? It is a good habit to include our ex partners and their future spouses in prayer. Sometimes, actually most times, it might not be easy, you may feel angry and and envious, but that is when prayer is needed the most. By making this a habit, you will notice the pain and envy begin to disappear and you will just be left with compassion for those you pray for. You may regret a lot of things in life, but one thing I can promise you will never regret is prayer. “Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.” – Ephesians 4:2-3

As final's week ends college students all over pack up their lives and get ready to move back home for a month. First-year students make sure to book the first flight out after their last final. They can't wait to come home to all of their friends, family, and most important, dogs. You really did it! You finished your first semester of college, how responsible and grown up of you. Christmas day the red carpet is unrolled as all of your family members congratulate you on this huge accomplishment, you rule the world! Eventually, the excitement of the holidays ware off and you realize you have at least 7 more semesters to go, crap. Well, at least you have all of those life long friends from high school to call up. Except things are different, these are still your friends but they've changed and so have you. You realize that you're closer in a new and different way with the friends you've made in the last 3 months. Don't get me wrong, there's still one or two high school buddies you will probably end up having in your wedding, but the rest might not even receive invitations. And what about the high school "love of your life" you so tragically lost after choosing separate colleges? Maybe you can rekindle your love this holiday season but chances are, that won't go the way you hope, chances are your whole winter break didn't go the way you hoped it would. But then you remember, YOU'RE IN COLLEGE, and you're having the time of your life!! You're surrounded by good looking people and you can take your pick! The people who matter are there for you and always have been, and in your short time at school, you've found a couple more of them. Home and the people there are great, but you are now lucky enough to have a second home and you're making it your own. So now you're packing up to head back to school with the same excitement you had a month earlier, with just a little more insight and excitement for the future and an even greater appreciation for home and the people who make it home, wherever that might be. Halloween has always been one of my favorite holidays. It's a time to be creative and come together with friends, and lets not forget about all of the candy. Halloween has become a huge consumer holiday. It's all about who can have the most creative, hilarious costume and the best decorations. My roommates and I are poor college students who have a hard time "splurging" on a meal at Mcdonalds but we didn't think twice about paying for the halloween decorations for the inside and outside of our apartment. Or the $20 plus we spent on our multiple costumes. And our budget was considered modest in comparison to some of our peers. Halloween is a holiday that everyone can enjoy, no matter their age. It brings people together and that's always a good thing, especially today. Halloween, like most holidays, is not just a day long affair, once it became October the decorations went up and pumpkin everything came out. And when the clock struck 12 and it became November, the Christmas music began to play.

The LA Original campaign showed all of the beautiful parts of LA but I think it is missing a huge part of the city. I think the commercial tried to show Los Angeles and it's diversity, however it showed the beautiful and somewhat higher class parts of the city. The whole point of the video is to encourage people to support local business. One of the examples is sprinkles cupcakes, the $4 cupcake people will wait hours for. My suggestion for this commercial would have been to show the small "hole in the wall" taquerias and the beautiful colors of REAL street art rather than the murals paid for buy the city. LA is beautiful for many reasons, this campaign chose the wrong ones. As a child I used to watch commercials and sit and think, "I can't wait to be 18 or older so I can order that." My parents steered me away from most popular mainstream brands that were overpriced. For me this was torture, I was sure that because I was not allowed to wear Abercrombie and Fitch no one would want to play tag with me at recess. My dad particularly liked to encourage me not to follow the expensive fashion trends but rather wear what's priced well and comfortable, I may not have been the most fashion forward 5th grader but I was the most cost efficient. Since then I've never been one to stick with a certain brand, I always buy what's cheapest and the best quality for it's price. The one and only brand my father was adamant about sticking with was Adidas, I can't remember why, something about USC football maybe. I have had a slight bias to buying Adidas products however only when they are priced right (or below Nike).

Burger King (http://alturl.com/tnepg) Jet.com (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JrVX37mc8eM) Commercials are fascinating, there are so many tricks companies have to keep you watching and interested. Companies spend thousands, even millions of dollars a year for commercials. Some commercials I enjoyed were the creative ones that saved the companies money. MailChimp had many different sales tactics they used by using social media trends. They spent very little money promoting their brand online through social media compared to what it would cost for airtime on TV. Burger King used a TV ad however they were able to get viewers attention by hijacking their Google Home machines. Jet.com simply stated all the ways they were able to save money on advertisements this year such as, naming an online commercial "Super Bowl Commercial" and then uploading it to youtube during the super bowl, making it one of the most viewed Super Bowl commercials without having to pay millions for ad space during the sporting event. Sometimes it isn't about how outrageous or expensive and commercial is, but rather the thought and strategy put into the advertisement. What is PR to me? Growing up my mother would tell me that her job was PR and that meant that she helped companies or people become more popular and gain success. I didn't care about all the particulars, I just thought that my mom had the coolest job because she made "Heelys" popular. Now I see PR a little differently. I see PR as a way to bring people together and shed light on people or products that can better society and the way we live our everyday lives. PR is so important to our society, making connections with each other is vital to the way we grow, as people and as a community.
